Michelangelo had vision, an ability to see an inner essence in what to others looked like a simple stone. But he had more than vision; he also had the gifting, the skills, and the tenacity to bring that vision into reality.
Successful web design also requires vision, an ability to see a design before it exists. The necessary technical knowledge enables one to bring that design into reality.
One without the other and you are left with nothing.
The goal at Kalanit Design Studio is to combine vision with knowledge to create intuitive, elegant, and effective web designs.
Whether you need a brand new site or a redesign of an existing site, we can help you develop a successful presence on the web, all at affordable prices.

Nature is the greatest artist.
Think about it. Have you ever seen a field of wild flowers with TOO much color? No, instead you see a perfect display of color, harmony, and balance.
Welcoming Spring

A beautiful bouquet of Kalanit flowers
Kalanit is the Hebrew word for a cup shaped plant with colorful flowers which grows wild in Israel in the spring. After the wet winter months, the wild flowers emerge from the earth and cover the landscape with color. One of those free gifts from heaven, they tell us in a beautiful way that "the winter is passed, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth..." (Shir HaShirim, 1:11).
Spring has arrived. The earth wakes from its winter slumber and paints a tapestry for all to see and enjoy.
Although great web sites don't just grow naturally, we still consider the web design process in terms of the passing of winter to spring. The creative impulse within us remains, even if at times dormant, only to one day emerge with that "flash" of creativity that seems to appear out of nowhere. Just as spring flowers suddenly appear after the dark, dreary winter months.
These wild flowers are our artistic guide when developing web sites. We strive to maintain harmony and balance in both the site layout and in the use of colors, combining the creative with the technical to create intuitive, elegant, and effective web designs.
The Importance of Good Design
Your organization's web site is often the first point of contact for your potential clients. You want a web site that accurately reflects your identity, a site that is well organized, and a site that keep will people coming back.
Design is the foundation of a great site. Without a solid design -- both in terms of visual appeal and the code used to build your site -- your web site will not survive the turbulent waters of the worldwide web.
We use the latest web design standards to produce efficient, effective, fast loading web sites. We build web sites that conform to the W3C standards wherever practicable ensuring your web site will look as good in the future as it does on the day we complete it. They are also cross browser compatible.
A successful web site requires that you first determine what you want to accomplish with your site -- what are your objectives, priorities and preferences.
So we will ask you to fill out an ESTIMATE REQUEST FORM to help us get to know you and your organization better. Communication is the key to a successful project.
If your project is complex and not yet clearly defined, you may need our help to determine your requirements and develop a document detailing the specifications. We will be glad to assist you with this work at our normal hourly rate. This written plan enables us to prepare an accurate quote for you, but it is also a valuable document that you may use to obtain other quotes/estimates if you choose.
Estimate
Once we have had the initial consultation and received your estimate request form, we can then provide a cost estimate for you. If you are happy with the estimate, we will then send you a copy of our standard contract which should be returned with the first installment of payment.
Design & Development
Design and development is a collaborative effort. After reviewing your needs and preferences, we will design a page layout and publish it on a test server. This is draft #1 of page layout. We will then ask for your feedback, incorporate this feedback into design and produce draft #2. One more round of feedback and then we will produce the final page design.
Going Live
When you have approved the final design, we will create all the pages of your site. Upon completion, we publish your site to your chosen web host.
Ongoing Maintenance
We also offer web site maintenance services. We offer maintenance & support services on either an hourly rate basis, a per job basis, or through purchase of a package of commonly-used services. .
